Our Mission
The guiding ethos of Dream Studies Press is provide quality books and tools to the public for the purpose of building a more dream-centric culture and supporting the creative, intuitive and dreaming arts.
Our Vision
Dream Studies Press is an educational provider in the evolving hybrid industry of publishing and community building. In the near future, Dream Studies Press will offer new services and products, including the republishing of classic works, as well as partnering with other educational institutes to support dream research.
Our commitment
Dream Studies Press is a member of the International Book Publishers Association and abides by their ethical guidelines. A portion of our profits also directly supports research into dream research. We have established a competitive yearly grant for research into the healing potential of dreams and nightmares. This grant is managed by the International Association for the Study of Dreams, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that is dedicated to dream research and public education about the inherent value of dream work.
Our humanity
Our books and products are created by humans for humans. We support artists and writers. No generative AI is used in any images, copy and work published by Dream Studies Press. We only partner with organizations who transparently declare their own policies for generative AI (which may be different than our own). We support alternative AI futures that center community and ecological sustainability rather than worker and resource exploitation.
Our history
Dream Studies Press was founded in 2011 by Ryan D Hurd. At first, the press published Ryan's popular multimedia guides and ebooks, including Sleep Paralysis (2011) and Dream Like a Boss (2015). In 2015 Ryan partnered with Lee Adams of Embleholics.com to create the Lucid Talisman series: a collection of original coins, amulets and pendants for encouraging lucid dreaming. These talisman have traveled all over the world, to every continent except Antartica. In 2025, the press incorporated as an LLC and is now expanding our portfolio to include original multi-author works and remastered dream studies classics. What will we dream up next?
